Tournament Rules
All matches will be played in accordance with FIFA laws of the game unless otherwise stated by the tournament committee.
All games will be two 30 minute halves, with 5 minute half time break. In the case of high temperatures, drinks breaks may be incorporated at the direction of the tournament controller.
Players’ equipment is to be in accordance with FIFA laws of the game. The tournament controller will provide referees with match balls (size 5) for all games.
Rolling subs will be allowed at any time when the ball is out of play, from the halfway and through the referee.
Players may only be drawn from the named squad of 16, and must be correctly named on the team card.
Referees will punish all instances involving:
Foul and abusive language, Serious foul play,
with an automatic RED card, and a one match suspension.
Violent conduct will also be punished with an automatic red card and will result in multi game suspension or expulsion from the tournament as determined by tournament committee.
Persistent yellow cards (2 or more) will be directed to the tournament committee for consideration of further action including possible suspension.
Team cards must be handed to the referee prior to the commencement of each match.
Shirt numbers must correspond to numbers on the card, and substitutes clearly stated.
Pool Matches/Playoffs
COLOURS
If there is a clash of colours, the second named team is to change.
POOL PLAY
Three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss.
In the event of teams having the same points at the end of pool play, final positions will be determined as follows:
by goal difference,
number of goals scored,
winner of the match between the two teams,
toss of a coin.
POST POOL PLAY – PLAYOFFS
The semi finals (top 4 teams) are knockout.
In the event of a draw after 60 minutes of normal time,
extra time of 7 minutes each will be played.
If at the end of extra time the scores are still level penalty kicks under FIFA rules will be taken.
Each team will have 5 penalty kicks, taken alternatively.
If after these penalty kicks a result has not been determined, penalty kicks will continue until one team scores one more penalty than the opposition, ie sudden death.
The 5th – 7th playoff is a round robin and normal rules for pool play (as above) apply.
The playoff for 8th & 9th is knockout and extra time and penalties (as above) apply.
